About

I am a mixed media artist living and working in the north east of England. I grew up in Fife, by the coast, below Largo Law, one of the range of ancient volcanoes in the central belt. Edinburgh Castle is itself built on an ancient volcanic plug. Being familiar from my childhood with those black volcanic rocks, I immediately felt at home in Iceland.

I am passionate about art, art history and islands. Glass, printmaking and found objects are at the core of my creations. After retiring from university lecturing and being a Volunteer Guide at Tate Modern and Tate Britain, I now volunteer for Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums.

I am a committee member of Tyneside Arts Society, a member of Northern Print, and an active member of the Dunston Staiths Restoration Project in Gateshead.
